Nicholas "Nick" Joseph Rohleder, 79, passed away peacefully at his home, Monday April 25, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 22, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky and was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and Bellarmine College, where he enjoyed participating in glee club. Nick retired as a 35 year employee of Brown-Forman. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards. He cherished his time camping with family and friends. Nick was a member of St. John Paul II in Sellersburg. He was a former longtime parishioner of Our Mother of Sorrows in Louisville, where he was an active booster club member. Nick loved his family dearly, and his greatest joy was being a devoted husband of 59 years to his wife, and dancing with the love of his life, Betty. Their love and dedication to one another was unparalleled.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Gervase and Haline "Pete" Rohleder and his sister, Judie Bates.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Rohleder; children, Nick Jr. (Lisa), Nancy Martin (Terry) and Tom (Susan); brother-in-law, Jim Bates; grandchildren, Michael (Sarah), Krista, and Matthew (Kaylyn) Martin, Haley, Grant, Morgan, Kaylee, Shane and Jack Rohleder; great-grandchildren, Alexis and Payton Martin.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, April, 28, 2022 at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana 47150. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am on Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. John Paul II Catholic Church, 2253 West St. Joe Road, Sellersburg, Indiana 47172.
