Phillip Brown Amster, age 84, of Norcross, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Phillip was born in New Albany, Indiana, on April 17, 1941, to the late Zol Mark Amster Sr. and Catherine Camilla Brown. Phillip graduated from New Albany High School in the class of 1959. Phillip retired from being in management at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Newspaper.
Phillip is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mark and Patrick Amster; great-grandsons, Jackson and Wyatt; and son-in-law, Robert Yoho Jr.
Phillip is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Amster-Yoho and Catherine Amster; grandchildren, Phillip and Brandi; great-grandchildren, Phillip, Trinity, Aerith, and Yohonna; his siblings, Lou Ellen, Christopher, and Camilla Starr; and many extended family and friends.
A graveside service was held at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
