PHILLIP RAY OWENS, 62, died Saturday, April 8, 2017. Phillip was born June 14, 1954 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Morton Owens and Martha Cadle. He worked at the New Albany National Guard as a mechanic and then Stem Veneer in New Albany. Phillip served in the U.S. Army 7th Air Cav. Division and was a member of VFW Post 3281 and American Legion Post 28, both in New Albany. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Allen Owens.
Surviving is his brother, Mark Owens (Sherry); uncle, Bud Robison (Ruth); and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen. Memorial Visitation will be 11:00 AM ~ 1:30 PM Monday, April 17, 2017 at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. A Memorial Service will be 1:30 PM Monday in the Kraft Spring Street Chapel with burial and military honors to follow at the New Albany National Cemetery.
