Robert "Bobby" Wayne Taylor Jr., age 77, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Bobby was born on February 9, 1946; the son of the late Gerald W. Denkler Sr. and Margret E. (Brown) Denkler. Most of Bobby’s career was spent working for Phillip Morris International Inc. where he retired. After retirement, he worked for the American Legion Bonnie Sloan Post 28 in New Albany Indiana. Bobby was a faithful member of both the American Legion, as well as the VFW for many years.
Bobby was a kind, loving person who never met a stranger. Some of the things he enjoyed in his pastime included gambling, playing a good game of poker, and betting on horse races. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Along with his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by a brother Gerald “Butch” Denkler; and sisters Ginny Hampton, Georgia Coles, Jerry Ellen Haynes, Pamela S. Boswell, and Sarah Schroeder.
Bobby is survived by his two sons, Robert Wayne Taylor III (Cindy), and David Taylor (Brenda); stepdaughters, Deanna Banet (Tracy), Cindy Little, Lisa Jamison (Brian), and Wanda Ann Wiggins; one sister, Betty Kopp (Jerry); several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; caregiver and niece, Melissa Baird; and best friend, Bill Davis; along with many other nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Visitation for Bobby will be held Sunday, August 13, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, Indiana 47150.
Bobby will be laid to rest privately in Kraft Graceland Memorial Park.
