

Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, on Thursday February 18th from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday February 19th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in New Albany. Burial will take place at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park. She passed away peacefully at home on Saturday February 13, 2010.
Rose was born to Joseph and Frances Klein on October 20, 1927 in St. Joe. She attended St. Joe Catholic school and was a former member of St. Joe Catholic Church. A devout catholic, she was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church for the past 63 years.
She was a former employee of Paramount Plywood. There she met Jack whom she married in 1947. They remained a close and loving couple for 58 years until Jack’s death in 2006.
She loved to dance and attended many dances at the local churches and the Community Club in Floyd Knobs and the VFW. She loved to play euchre with her husband, children and friends.
Her most important role was wife and mother, which she took much pride in by providing a warm and loving environment for her family.
After starting her family and because of her love of children she started babysitting in her home on McDonald Lane in New Albany. This continued for the next 30 years, during which time she lovingly took care of over 100 children. Each child becoming a part of her own family, some of whom she watched from infancy until 10 to 12 years of age. After retiring, she would continue to talk about “her kids”.
A loving and devoted sister, wife, mother and grandmother she is survived by her daughter Rhonda Marcum and husband David of Sellersburg, son Danny Langford and wife Mona of Georgetown. 3 granddaughters, Krista Bohne, Jennifer Langford and Lora Langford. 2 great grandsons, Tyler and Braxton and her brother, Joe B. Klein and wife Marilyn of Edwardsville. 14 nieces and 5 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jack, and 2 sisters, Eleanore Helbig and Mary Lenz.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions in her memory to Vista Care Hospice or masses said on her behalf at Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
She will be forever missed.
