My sympathy to the family. Sharon and her parents lived 2 doors down from us on McDonald Ave., New Albany. We were basically neighbors, in junior-senior high school together. Sharon was 2 grades ahead. We, along with other neighborhood kids played basketball a lot in the backyard along with hide and seek. Sharon was a great softball player coached by Lettie Walters. This was a time when girl sports not that all recognized, but they were good and played a number of tourneys. Bless all of you..

Sharon was such a great friend .  We went to high school and college together.  I met Sharon when we were around 13 years old.  We played all the sports together with the BPW Hoosiers in our teenage years.   After college we didn’t get to see each other very much, as I was in Virginia and she was in Indiana.  But we had kept in touch through out all these past decades.  I will truly miss Sharon.   She was such a wonderful friend.  
   My condolences and prayers to her family.  I’m so sorry.  She was a part of my life .

I always enjoyed Mrs. Garner as my teacher! I’m so sorry for your loss!

I've known Sharon for a long time.  From being my teacher,friend part time Mom, coworker at school.  We've played Alot of softball and tournaments together.  We bowled together for several years. Her skills in coaching especially track, gave Floyd Central their first state champion. She will be sorely missed.

Sharon and I met in 6th grade at Fairmont School when she sat beside me.  We lived only 2 blocks apart, and would share so many activities and good times through college.  I still have such fond memories of her wedding to Mike, and visited their home in Greenville many times.  Sharon was part of so many memories, and she will be with me still. Sharon was my mentor, co-teacher,  parenting advisor, and friend.  She took me under her wing when I first came to Floyd Central Junior High School in 1985 to teach P.E. & Health.  Though I had 7 years experience, I had a lot yet to learn and Sharon was right there to help guide me.  I was all ears when she shared her parenting stories from home since I was just beginning my own family.  I always admired her depth of knowledge and teaching skills as well as her ironclad memory of people, experiences, and connections.  I've been meeting her for lunch monthly for a few years now in our retirement.  I will cherish my time with her and miss her greatly.  I was truly blessed to have had her in my life.  Rest in Peace, dear friend.

Once in a lifetime you meet a person who becomes your BEST FRIEND. Someone who stands beside you RIGHT TO THE END. You were loyal, caring, & true. I know I hit the jackpot to have had you as my friend. I will truly miss you and our conversations. I am happy that you and Mike are now back together.❤️. 🙏🏻 for David, Dan, and families.

Mrs. Gardner was my PE/Health teacher at the brand new Floyd Central. Women sports were starting to emerge with speculation of  Title IX.  Mrs. Gardner was very encouraging to those of us who wanted to play sports.  Prior to Title IX , she took a bus load of girls to Oolitic, Indiana to play volleyball one Saturday.  Pretty special day, and I am sure there was no pay for her that day..   She wanted us to experience the art of teamwork and competing.  She had a great  sense of humor.  She was our friend,  Teachers like her made a lasting impression throughout my life.

My dear cousin Sharon will be deeply missed by me her cousin Elaine Crandall. I will always remember our trip to Hawaii and many other vacation trips. We sure had a lot of fun. She was always so good to my mom. Your heavenly Father awaits you. Rest In Peace my dear cousin.

Love has many names in our lives. Sharon is definitely one in mine. Thank you my friend for  the life lessons, all the  laughter and mostly the friendship. My condolences to Dan and David.

Mrs. Gardner was the best teacher, coach, school trip chaperone (Washington, DC) and awesome friend that I could ask for.  She trained me in cross country, swimming and track. She even took me to tour Eastern Kentucky University. My heart breaks knowing I won’t see her again but I rejoice knowing she is once again with her husband. Thank you, Mrs. Gardner, for coaching me in the game of life.

Sharon was a gift from God and will be missed by all who knew her.  We will say a prayer that God welcomed Sharon with open arms.
