Sharron Jean Smith

Sharron Jean Smith, age 82, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025. Sharron was born in Louisville, Kentucky, on July 3, 1942, to the late Jeff and Jeanna (Gritton) Key. Sharron married the love of her life, the late James Robert "J.R." Smith Jr., on May 28, 1960. Together, they faithfully built a home during their 54 years of marriage. She prided herself on being a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother.

Sharron is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, J.R. Smith.

Survivors include her daughter, Carrie (Joe) Krause; her sons, Robbie (Mindy) Smith and Troy (Ann) Smith; brothers, Jeffrey (Sandy) Key and Steve (Marsha) Key; grandchildren: Ryan (Kelsey) Smith, Katie (Noah) Naville, Cory Krause; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held at Kraft Funeral Service, 2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, Indiana, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Sharron's funeral service will be at the funeral home at 2:00 pm, with her entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
