Shirley Jean Mahoney, 81 years of age passed away August 16, 2018. She was born June 9, 1937 in Owensboro, Kentucky to the late James and Bessie (Beard) Taylor. Shirley enjoyed going to yard sales, bowling, playing poker with her family, spending quality time with her best friend Donita Bryant, and most of all loving on her family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Mahoney, Sr.; son, James Mahoney, Jr.; sisters, Clara Millay (Martin), Mary Tichenor (Charles); twin brother, Sherman Taylor (Theresa); brother, Billy Taylor (Lillian).
Survivors include her children, Bradly Mahoney, Jo Fletcher, Vanessa Ferguson, Theresa Gahafer (Doc); brother, George Taylor (Martha); grandchildren, Travis Richmond, Keisha Norrington (Brad), Tanaya Crawford, Amy Dennison (Bobby), Noel Mahoney (David), Kelsi Ferguson (Daniel), Spencer Ferguson (Hannah); 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Loved by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday at Kraft Funeral Service, 708 E. Spring Street, New Albany, Indiana. Her Funeral Service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at the funeral home chapel with cremation to follow.
