Born on May 18, 1943, in Elys, Kentucky, Tommy was a 1961 graduate of Knox Central High School and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from UPS after 32 years of dedicated service.
Tommy married Carleton Gregory in 1967, and together they built a life filled with love, resilience, and family.
In his younger years, Tommy enjoyed writing and playing songs, and working on cars. Later in life, he found fulfillment in home improvement projects and maintaining his property. In his seventies, he developed an interest in clocks and watches, which became a quiet and rewarding hobby.
He loved his family deeply and expressed that love in both big and small ways throughout his life.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Carleton; his children: Michael Gregory, Adrianne Whitelaw (Jody), Merideth Book (Mark), and Ben Gregory (Heather); and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Penny Gregory Cox.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Emma Gregory.
Tommy’s life was one marked by quiet strength, unwavering faith, and a deep devotion to those he held dear. He will be missed beyond words.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 15th at Kraft Funeral Home (2776 Charlestown Road, New Albany, IN 47150) from 11:00 am -2:00 pm. The funeral will take place at 2:00pm, with burial to follow in Kraft- Graceland Memorial Park.
