William Richard Atkins, 87 years of age died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at The Villas of Guerin Woods. He was born November 20, 1928 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Alvin Atkins, Sr. and Ruth (Hubler) Atkins. Bill was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War and was a retired foreman from Paramont Plywood in New Albany, Indiana. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Atkins, and sons, Steve and Gary Atkins.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Hamblen; brothers, Alvin Atkins, Jr., Donald Atkins, Kenneth Atkins (Betty); sister, Helen Day.
