

Alfred J. Carreau, age 74, of Dartmouth, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Jane (Souza) Carreau and his companion, Nancy Tavares, with whom he shared 20 years together.
Born in Acushnet, he was the son of the late Leo F. and Irene L. (Potvin) Carreau, Sr.
Alfred was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and was a self-employed trucker for AGR Transportation for many years. He enjoyed hunting, riding his Harley, watching game shows, Patriot and Red Sox games, and listening to country music. Spending time with his family and friends were very important, especially with his dogs. Alfred had the greatest sense of humor, being a jokester, and always made you laugh with the variety of t-shirts he was known to wear. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his loving sons, Kevin Carreau and his wife Wendy of Marion, Mark Carreau, and Michael Carreau and his wife Laura of Westport; five grandchildren, Tiffany Carreau, Kevin Carreau Jr., Shelby Franco, Joseph Carreau, and Jade Carreau, and six great grandchildren; six siblings, Robert Carreau, Gerard Carreau, Ronald Carreau, Shirley Starwalt, Bernice Amarello, and Donnalee Makuch, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leo Carreau Jr., Kenneth Carreau and Lillian Goulart.
His visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00pm, with a funeral service at 7:30pm in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745. Burial will be private. www.rock-funeralhome.com.
