

Born in New Bedford, son of James A. Perry Sr. of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Karyl Grace-Ryan of New Bedford, he was a life-long resident of the city.
A graduate of New Bedford Vocational Technical High School, Class of 1999, Dre was a DJ and Promoter for Insomnia Productions and was well-known as “DJ Dre” in Providence and Boston. He was a manager at KAM Appliances in Nantucket and he also worked at T-Mobile for several years. An avid Boston Red Sox fan, he also enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics and New England Patriots. Andre especially loved spending time with his children, family and friends. Andre found sincere joy in meeting and connecting with people throughout his life. He had an infectious smile and laugh. He was truly loved and adored by so many people.
In addition to his mother and father he is survived by: his children, Drea Perry, Nathan Perry, and Taylor Medeiros-Perry, his children’s mother Laura Medeiros, all of Dartmouth; his siblings, Kendra Lee Perry of Jupiter, Florida, Antone Perry and his wife Marianella, James A. Perry, Jr. and his wife Justina, and Karyl Lee Perry, all of New Bedford; his maternal grandfather, Francisco “Sam” Graca of New Bedford, his step-father, Jimmy Ryan of New Bedford and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family members and countless friends.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Pauline Livramento and paternal grandparents, Antone F. and Eileen (Ball) Perry.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM in the ROCK Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd. New Bedford, followed by a Funeral Service at 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial is private.
