Annette L. (Lachapelle) Hutson, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 18, 2026. She was born on March 31, 1952, in New Bedford, and was a resident of Dartmouth. Annette lived in Alabama for a few years and previously lived in Florida for 25 years. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Georgette (Cormier) Lachapelle.
Annette worked in the field of optometry as an optician assistant until her retirement, serving others with steady care and professionalism throughout her years of work.
Annette will be lovingly remembered by her children, Christopher Hutson and his wife Rachel; Lisa Kreller; and Katherine Crawford; her siblings, Rita Sansoucy, Marie Lague, and Bernard Lachapelle and his wife Marie; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, Gerard, Paul, and Norman Lachapelle.
Annette had a creative flare and talent in the arts and crafts she so enjoyed—especially the angels she created, many of which she gave to family as lasting keepsakes. She also took pleasure in crocheting and needlepoint, and counted her Christmas village as her favorite masterpiece. In gentler moments, she enjoyed playing cribbage, listening to podcasts, watching You Tube, and savoring a good cup of Folgers instant coffee.
Annette's life will be celebrated with family and friends at a later date.
Arrangements are in the care of Rock Funeral Home.
