

Annette Ivonne Santos (Comeau) of Fairhaven, MA, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of Richard P. Santos, who earlier passed away on April 22, 2020 after 61 years of marriage.
“Toni”, as she was known, was born in New Bedford on September 24, 1937, the daughter of William and Blanche Comeau. Her siblings included two sisters and a brother.
She born and lived in New Bedford until she settled in Fairhaven in 1962, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
She attended New Bedford Vocational High School and left to attend hair styling school. After a short time she established her own successful beauty shop business in Fairhaven. The facility remained operational for many decades. Through the years she cultivated many friendships in the surrounding area. Most of those friends continued to maintain that relationship long after the business closed.
Toni had a smiling personality and was a wonderful listener, an important attribute for a hair stylist.
Annette enjoyed dancing at Lincoln Park where she and her husband learned ballroom dancing. Later she and Ricky learned to square, country and line dance.
After her retirement Toni loved to visit local casinos and try her luck on the slot machines. She was an avid reader of romance novels and completed many puzzles to while away the hours in retirement.
Survivors include her son, David Santos and his wife Sonia of Phoenix, AZ, her grandson Garrick and her brother, William Comeau. She was predeceased by her son Richard Jr., her mother, Blanche Comeau (Nolin), her sister Teresa (Terry) and her husband Ernest Jarvis, her sister Cecile (Cookie) and her husband Daniel Bolton and her sister-in-law, Christine Comeau, William’s wife.
Her Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025 from 4-6 pm at the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745.
A short visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at 9AM at Rock funeral home followed by a car procession to St. Mary’s Church at 440 Main St. Fairhaven, for a Mass of Christian Burial which is scheduled for 10 am. Following the Mass, the entourage will travel to St. John's Cemetery, Allen Street, New Bedford, for a graveside ceremony.
