Antone Cardoza Jr.

Antone “Tony” Cardoza, Jr. of Acushnet, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Antone and Mary Cardoza of Fairhaven, MA, and the Beloved husband of 47 years to Dora (Furtado) Cardoza.

Antone was a Flight Engineer in the United States Air Force stationed in Tripoli, Libya, servicing as an Aircraft Mechanic providing both in flight and ground services to reciprocating engine airplanes. He was Honorably Discharged as a Staff Sergeant.

Tony was also a bookkeeper for Tam Motors in Wareham, MA, Owner of Alden Motors in Acushnet, was the General Manager of Capt. Frank’s Seafood Market and retired as the Manager of Kyler’s Catch Seafood Market, New Bedford, MA.

Tony enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach. His greatest joy was his family.

Survivors include his two daughters, Toni Lynn Cardoza and her fiancée Dario Lopes of New Bedford, MA and Nicole Howell and her husband Kevin of Acushnet, MA; his two grandsons, Spencer and Cooper; several brothers and sisters; and nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014 at 8am from the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a Funeral Mass at 9am in St. Mary’s Church, Main St., Fairhaven.
