

Antonio M. Pimentel, a beloved and devoted man, passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 5, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on August 24, 1947, in Feteira Pequena, Nordeste, São Miguel, Açores, and was the son of the late Manuel C. and Rosa (Andrade) Pimentel.
During his youth in São Miguel, he contributed to his family's livelihood through farming and livestock activities. He also served with pride in the Portuguese Army, exemplifying his strong sense of duty and patriotism.
In 1972, he married his beloved wife, Ernestina (Rocha) Pimentel. The following year, he emigrated to the United States to seek new opportunities. He worked tirelessly to achieve the American dream and to provide a better life for his wife and daughter, Kerry.
He was a proud grandfather to Octavius and Evannah, who brought him immense joy. His influence on their lives was profound and lasting.
Antonio's employment history included work at several factories, including Chamberlain. Before retiring, he played a key role in the construction of the Big Dig in Boston while working for Modern Continental. His strong work ethic was widely acknowledged.
He deeply valued his family and enjoyed spending quality time with loved ones, whether at gatherings, holidays, or casual visits. Traveling to Canada and São Miguel, Açores to visit relatives was among his favorite activities. He took pride in maintaining his yard and car, and he enjoyed gardening and caring for his fruit trees. Additionally, he was a soccer enthusiast, especially when Benfica was playing.
A devout Catholic, Antonio was a dedicated communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception for over 50 years.
He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and faith. His legacy of love, dedication, and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him. He was known for having a heart of gold.
Antonio is survived by his beloved wife, Ernestina; his adored daughter, Kerry Pimentel Taveira, and her husband, Jose; his cherished grandchildren, Octavius and Evannah; his siblings, Gilberto, Elisio, Miguel, Jeremias, Luis, and Fatima; and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren and other family members. He was predeceased by his twin brother Eduardo, sister Noemia, and brothers Jose and Jaime.

His Funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 9:00AM in the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, 136 Earle Street, New Bedford, MA 02746.
