Carol Ann Dexter

Carol Ann (Renauld) Dexter, age 68, of Acushnet, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Raymond Dexter.

She was born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Albert and Shirley (Bousquet) Renauld. Carol is survived by her two children, Angela Dexter-Hinxman and her husband Stephan of Middleboro, and Mark Dexter and his wife Ashley of Acushnet; a granddaughter, Mackenna Dexter; her grand-dogs Dexter the Dog and Bessie. Mrs. Dexter was also the mother of the late Barbara Dexter. Carol was the sister of Doris Shepardson of N. Dartmouth and the late Albert Renauld of Dartmouth and Shirley Bouchard of Maine; She leaves behind several nieces and nephews; and several close friends whom she considered family.

Carol most recently worked in the Old Rochester Regional High School as the giving cafeteria lady who always made sure the students were well fed for 15 years. She was employed at the Baby Boudoir Outlet in New Bedford for many years where she enjoyed being able to assist expecting families. When Carol wasn't busy with her career Carol could be found scratching lottery tickets, drinking her Maxwell House Instant Coffee, playing with her granddaughter, and hosting her friends and family. You never left Carol's house hungry.

There will be a Graveside Service held at 9AM on March 30, 2024 in Sacred Heart Cemetery, 559 Mt Pleasant Street, New Bedford, MA. 02745. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Southcoast VNA, 200 Mill Rd, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
