Edward J. Oliveira, Jr.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the son of the late Edward Oliveira, Sr. and the late Patricia (Carr) Oliveira, he resided in New Bedford for the past 10 years.

Edward worked as an independent trucker and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles.

He is survived by 3 children, Jennifer Hopkins and her husband Christopher of Acushnet; Erin Lopes and her husband Helder of New Bedford; Edward Oliveira III and his wife Wendy of Warwick, RI; a brother John Oliveira and his companion Kathy of New Bedford; a sister Mary Cook of Easthampton, MA; a step-son, Christopher Ovitt and his wife Jill, 6 grandchildren, several nieces and a nephew.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 10am at St Lawrence Martyr Church, 565 County Street, New Bedford. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation is private. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of the Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd, New Bedford.
