Fern Breault

Born in Prestonsburg, KY, the daughter of LulaMae (Lafferty) DeRossett and the late Ashland P. DeRossett, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.

Fern was a 1959 graduate of Prestonsburg High School and began her career in banking at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cincinnati, the Fifth Third National Bank of Cincinnati, and later at the Shawmut Bank in New Bedford where she was Supervisor of the Money Market Department. After retiring from banking she took the position of receptionist in the office of the Sheriff of Bristol County where she officially retired on December 27, 2008 after 10 years of service.

She enjoyed her Tuesday Girl’s Day Out and was a member of the Wamsutta Club of New Bedford.

Survivors include her husband, her mother, LulaMae DeRossett of Prestonsburg, KY; a daughter Laura L. (Breault) Senna and her husband Thomas; a son Jefferson G. Breault and his wife Lynn Connor; her beloved grandchildren, Justin P. Gibbs, Matthew J. Breault, and Arielle Paige Breault, all of New Bedford. Survivors also include her siblings, Ashland P. DeRossett and his wife Shelah of Trenton, OH, Ronald DeRossett and his wife Jackie of Prestonsburg, KY, Terry A. DeRossett and his companion Virginia Sutton of Smyrna, GA, and Vickie L. Ellis and her husband Rick of Prestonsburg, KY. Also many nieces and nephews.
