Filomena (Carlos) Souza, 93, of New Bedford passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred P. Souza Jr. with whom she shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Jose Louis and Germana (Medeiros) Carlos.
Filomena worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years.
She is survived by her loving children, Alfred C. Souza and his wife Karen of Fairhaven, Stephen Souza and his wife Anna Maria of New Bedford, and Joanne Harding and her husband Scott of Acushnet; seven grandchildren, Eric Souza, Kristen Souza, Meagan Souza, Joshua Harding, Jared Harding, Jonathan Souza, and Samantha Souza; eleven great-grandchildren, Zoe Harding, Alexis Pimental, Mackenzie Pimental, Aiva Pimental, Adam Souza, Noah Souza, Jackson Gonsalves, Jordyn Souza, Violet Souza, Elijah Hernandez, and Isaiah Hernandez and many nieces and nephews.
