Born in Brockton, a son of Nuno Oliveira and Mary (Kennedy) Taylor, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life before moving to Maine. He was a graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School, class of 2004 and attended U-Mass Dartmouth.
George loved his family dearly; he was a commercial fisherman for over 10 years and maintained an organic herb farm. He enjoyed teaching, learning and making people laugh. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed hiking, animals, and scuba diving.
In addition to his parents, he survived by a brother, Paul Oliveira of New Bedford; a sister, Katrina Simmons and her husband Colton of Fairhaven; maternal grandmother, Edna Kennedy of Stoughton; paternal grandparents, Manuel and Liduina Oliveira of Stoughton; step-father, James E. Taylor and step-mother Linda Oliveira and many step-siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Paul Kennedy.
