Born in Park City, Kentucky a daughter of the late John Walter and Olive Mae (Hogan) she had lived in Louisville, KY before moving to New Bedford, then Fairhaven and finally residing in Acushnet.
Mrs. Amaral-Farak was a seamstress for Eastern Sportswear for many years. She played a mean game of Rummy with any partner she could find. She enjoyed cooking and always had enough for one more place at the table. She especially loved spending time with her family on special holidays and cheering on her grandchildren at their many sporting events. She was a true lady who always had a kind word and smile for any one she met. She was always ready to help wherever she was needed. She lived by the words: “That which we do for ourselves we take to our graves. That which we do for others in this world lives on for eternity.” Her beautiful blue eyes glistened and would melt any heart throughout all her 91 years. She was beautiful inside and out.
She is survived by her four daughters, Elaine Martins and her husband Ed of Wareham, Jeanie Soucy and her husband Paul, her devoted caregivers of Acushnet, Linda Gentili and her husband Michael of NH, Rhonda Lee Bala and her husband Vic of Acushnet; grandchildren, Laurie Martins and her children Tara and Robbie Di Giantomaso, Paul-John Soucy and his wife Susan and their children Paul Ryan and Zachary John Soucy, Sheri Costa and her husband Derek and their children Ashley, Alivia Holodenski and Derek Costa, Kristy Letendre and her husband Chris and their children Josh Letendre and Emma and Makayla Letendre, Torie Thomas and her husband Jon and their children Savannah Amaral and Jax and Aylah Mae Thomas, and Luke Bala.
