

Hilda (Moniz) Boucher, age 89, of Fairhaven, formerly of New Bedford, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife Roland A. Boucher to whom she had been married for 66 years.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Mariano and Anna (Martin) Moniz and step daughter of the late Mary (Furtado) Moniz, she spend a majority of her life in New Bedford before moving to Fairhaven 3 years ago.
Mrs. Boucher was employed as an Assembler with Aerovox Corp in New Bedford and waitressed at the Century House in Fairhaven. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, going to the Brooklawn Senior Center, loves her Red Sox and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children Susan Letourneau and her husband Michael of Dartmouth, Roland A. Boucher Jr and his wife Robin of Acushnet, Kathryn Lopes and her husband Mark of New Bedford, Steven Boucher and his wife Sharen of New Bedford and Michael Boucher and his wife Darlene of New Bedford; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Boucher was the sister of the late George, Daniel and Donald Moniz, Evelyn Roza, Mary Silveria and Irene Lewis.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 8AM from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 9AM in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford.
