Born in Rhode Island, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Mabel (Shannon) Walsh.
Irene and her husband were avid square dancers and loved traveling around in their camper. They were also supporters of the Ernestina Association, the double masted scooner and Docents at the New Bedford Whaling Museum.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Roland Morin and his wife Daisey of Ohio and sister-in-law, Vivian Whitt of Arizona; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at 10 AM in Holy Name of Jesus Church, 99 Camp St., Providence. Burial will follow in St. Anne Cemetery, Cranston. Arrangements are in the care of the ROCK Funeral Home.
