Loretta Elodia Remillard Dubois

Loretta E. (Remillard) Dubois, age 85, of Acushnet passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital on Tuesday, January 5, 2016. She was the wife of Eugene Dubois with whom she just celebrated 65 years of marriage on November 25th.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Jean and Noella Remillard, she spent her early years in the city before moving to Acushnet in 1972. Loretta graduated from New Bedford High School in 1948. She worked for Saltmarshes in New Bedford as a Sales Clerk in the book department, and had formerly worked for Aerovox and Mickey Madan Pocketbook Factory. She was an avid reader and had attended St. Therese’s Church.

In addition to her husband, she leaves 3 sons: Wayne Dubois and his wife, Judy of New Bedford, Neil Dubois and his wife, Cheryl of Cranston, RI, and Lee Dubois of Acushnet; a daughter Susan Hamel and her husband, Wayne of Acushnet; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Kent Dubois.
