Maria I. Marques

Maria I. Marques, born on August 13, 1955, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the age of 70. She was a resident of Acushnet, Massachusetts. She was the wife of Manuel B. Marques.

She was the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Correira) Oliveira.

Maria was a long time resident of Acushnet and was an Aide at Kiddie Campus for many years prior to her retirement.

She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed Little House on the Prairie, listening to ABBA, especially Dancing Queen and Dream Weaver by Gary Wright. She loved taking care of family and cooking. It was always others before herself.

In addition to her husband Manuel, she is survived by her twin sons, Stephen Marques, Nelson Marques and his wife Tammy, and Wayne Marques. Her siblings, Lydia Oliveira DeSousa, Noe Oliveira, Delia Braz, John Oliveira, Connie Medeiros and Luis Oliveira. Her grandchildren, Alyssa, Bradley, Hannah, Brady and Sierra.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, located at 136 Earle St, New Bedford, MA 02746, on December 30, 2025, at 10:00 am.
