Matthew Breton Crowley

Born in Fall River, a Matt graduated from New Bedford High, class of 2006 and later attended the UMASS Nursing program. He was employed as a maintenance supervisor for Univar Corp for the last 10 years.

Matthew loved his family dearly; most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his parents. He loved to travel abroad; he enjoyed his trips to Ireland and Budapest, and had his luggage packed and was ready to depart to London the day he passed. He was very active in sports during high school, where he excelled in Volleyball and Basketball. He was an avid golfer and always enjoyed participating in the CARE Southcoast golf tournament. Matthew was a wonderful son and was a friend to all.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his aunts, Ann Marie Mullen and her husband William of Somerset and Suzanne O’Connell and her husband James of Fall River; an uncle, James Breton of Fall River and many cousins; his godparents, Peter and Dorothy Koczera and his best friends, Sean and Erika Genron. He was grandson of the late John and Barbara Crowley, Gerald and Josephine Boyle and Richard and Louise Breton, and nephew of the late LuAnn Sullivan, Donna Jackson, Richard T. Hall, Sgt. Russell G. Smith, who perished in the Gulf War, and Glen Crowley, who perished on the FV-Northern Edge.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at 9:00AM in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford, MA 02745 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, 440 Main Street, Fairhaven, MA 02719.
