Michael Waddington

Michael Waddington, 59, of New Bedford passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Michelle (Beauregard) Waddington.

Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Marie (DePiro) Waddington and Alan Waddington of Fairhaven he was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Waddington graduated from Fairhaven High School. In 1976, he began to work as a machine operator at Acushnet Company. He worked there many years until his retirement. Michael was a Patriots and Red Sox fan and he enjoyed fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jeffrey Delina, Matthew Delina and Jenny Sousa all of New Bedford; a brother, Alan Waddington of Fairhaven; a sister, Lisa G. Santos of New Bedford; four grandchildren; and three nieces and four nephews.

He was the brother of the late Lynne M. Waddington.

His memorial service will be Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 11 am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashely Blvd., New Bedford. Interment will be private. www.rock-funeralhome.com for online tribute/directions.
