

He was the husband of the late Yvonne A. (Desrosiers) Allain.
Born in New Bedford a son of the late Edward and Marceline (Arseneault) Allain, he was a lifelong resident of the city and parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church, New Bedford.
Peter served one year in CCC Camps as well as 27 months with the Navy Seabees during World War II. He served in the Pacific Island Midway, Tinian, Saipan and Guam.
Mr. Allain retired from Coyne Industrial Laundry in 1976 after 27 years of servicing the Newport, RI area.
Peter would like to say “a special thanks to grandson Kyle for visiting me each day.”
He is survived by two sons, Michael Allain and his wife Jacquelyn of New Bedford and Richard Allain and his wife Jacquelyn of Swansea; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Azelie Provencal, Mary Ann Barselou, Thaddee, David, Calixte, Eddy and Arthur Allain.
His memorial mass will be Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
