Philip J. de Sousa

Born in New Bedford, a beloved son of Luis and Mary Beth (McCaleb) de Sousa he was a lifelong area resident.

Philip loved the ocean and was fascinated with sharks. His childhood wish was to study sharks when he became an adult. Philip studied tae kwon do. He enjoyed Disney movies, being outdoors and being with his dog. He loved music, especially classic rock music.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three siblings Emily, Thomas, and Lucia de Sousa all of New Bedford; paternal grandmother, Maria (Nobrega) Sousa of Acushnet; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was the grandson of the late Aires de Sousa and Patrick and Jeannine (Lalonde) McCaleb.

His funeral service will be Monday, April 10, 2017 at 10 am in the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 4-8 pm.
