Robert Gene Eldridge

Robert (Bob) Eldridge Sr., 75 of New Bedford passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Judy (Cornell) Eldridge with whom he shared 52 plus years of marriage.

Born in Westerly, RI, he was the son of the late Clifford A. and Hannah Mae (Briggs) Eldridge of Hope Valley RI. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and served his country proudly. He also joined the Army National Guard in the mid 80’s for a short time. Bob worked his earlier years as a truck driver and a laborer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children; Lisa Eldridge and companion William Medeiros of New Bedford, Robert G Eldridge Jr, and wife Julie of New Bedford, Jeffrey Eldridge and Clifford Eldridge of New Bedford. Twelve grandchildren, Jasmine, Michael, Thomas, Nicholas, Hope, Megan, Makenna and Lucas; and a brother Gary Eldridge and wife Allene of North Carolina as well as several nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by Althea, Samantha, Kathryn and Shannon Eldridge
