

Roger “Skip” Dupont, 77, of Fairhaven passed away Friday, July 3, 2015 in St. Luke’s Hospital after a long illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved companion of 24 years of Dorothy Greenwood of Fairhaven and former husband of Patricia (Freitas) Dupont.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late Laurent and Elmina (Hebert) Dupont he lived most of his life in New Bedford.
Mr. Dupont worked for Chamberlain for many years. He was a member of the Sixth Bristol where he enjoyed the pitch league. Skip loved the Red Sox and Patriots and he was always a country music fan.
In addition to his companion, he is survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Dupont of New Bedford; two sons, Stephen Dupont and his wife Angelina and Christopher Dupont all of New Bedford; his siblings, Marguerite Brasseur of Acushnet, Normand Dupont of NH, Rita Young of New Bedford, Annette Pelletier of Fairhaven, Rhea St. Onge of Yarmouth, Dolores Brissette of Acushnet and Irene Seguin of Fairhaven; eight grandchildren, Justin, Troy, Cameron, Matthew, Stephen, Jr., April Jade, Jeremy and Lauren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Joseph Dupont.
His memorial service will be Friday, July 10, 2015 at 8 am from the ROCK FUNERAL HOME, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a memorial mass at 9 am in St. Mary’s Church, Fairhaven.
