Vivian E. Dupont

She was born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Alfred and Leona (Farland) Lafleur and step-daughter of the late Blanche Rose Desrosiers and has been a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Dupont was a Homemaker, raising her seven children and was the caregiver for her late husband for 39 years.

She is survived by her seven children Elaine Wojtunik and her husband Michael of Acushnet, Richard Dupont and his wife Robin of Florida, Donald Dupont and his wife Judith of Acushnet, Michael Dupont and his wife Tracey of Rochester, Dennis Dupont of Fall River, Maurice Dupont and his wife Nancy of Fairhaven and Debra Fonseca and her husband Walter of N. Dartmouth; two sisters Constance Dupont and Dolores Mendes both of New Bedford, a brother Alfred Lafleur of East Freetown, 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Raymond Lafleur.

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 9am in St. Joseph-St. Therese Church, Acushnet Ave., New Bedford. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are in the care of the ROCK Funeral Home 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford.
