Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late John and Harriet Francis, he lived in East Freetown most of his life. He worked as a crane operator.
Survivors in addition to his wife are 4 daughters, Margaret, Sharon and Amanda Fortin, Crystal Lyonnaise and 1 son, Willard Fortin, 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
