She was born on July 26, 1959, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Robert and Betty (McCoy) Cour. Bernadette married Roland Marr on November 22, 1977, in Springfield.
Bernadette graduated from Ursuline Academy. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Bernadette loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William and James Cour.
Bernadette is survived by her husband, Roland Marr of Springfield; children, Roland “Andy” (Cynda) Marr, Robert A (Madison) Marr, and Rollin “Linn” (Dan) Downey; grandchildren, Colby and Caitlyn Marr, Jordan A and Layne Marr, Brittany Morrison, Daniel Downey, and Destiny Downey; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Davin, and Dezmin; and sister, Mary S. (Mike) Adams.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home – New Berlin, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. The Ceremony will then take place at 12:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 300 E. Gibson St., New Berlin, with Pastor Jacob Moore officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
