He is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Diane Christopher Vance.
He is survived by his sons Robert (Carol) Vance of Stafford, VA and Chris (Cindy K.) Vance of Williamsburg, VA; and grandchildren Lauren and Anna (Rob and Carol).
Art served his country as a Marine officer and also through civil service as a Navy and DoD Civil Engineer. He loved boating, gardening and singing in the choir at Christ Episcopal Church and had a passion for making new friends and celebrating life. He will be sorely missed by his family and the many others whose lives he touched.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Christ Episcopal Church.
