Beverly Joyce Shirah Leathers

Beverly Joyce Shirah Leathers, 82, of Trent Woods, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Greenville, NC. Born in Phenix City, AL, Beverly was a loving mother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew her.

Beverly is survived by her son, Brian Leathers, and daughter, Barbra Leathers Beierwaltes, both of Winterville, NC; her brother, Carlvin Shirah, and her sister, Marilyn Foster, both of Phenix City, AL. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and husband.

A member of First Baptist Church in New Bern, Beverly found comfort in her faith and the fellowship of her church family. Beverly had a deep passion for the beauty of nature, particularly the mountains, which she often visited, and she also cherished her travels, including one memorable trip abroad. She had a curious spirit and a warm heart, always eager to share her experiences and stories with those around her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to First Baptist Church in New Bern, NC, or to a charity of your choice in Beverly’s memory.

Beverly’s memory will live on in the hearts of her children, her family, and all those whose lives she touched.
