Bonnie Anne James

Bonnie Anne Hughes James, 74, of New Bern, passed just before midnight on the evening of Tuesday, July 26, 2016. Bonnie served at the Howell Center for many years where she lovingly cared for children with disabilities. She loved her family deeply and was a wonderful mother who will be missed by all who knew her.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home with the Reverend Barry Teague officiating.

Bonnie is survived by her two sons, Robert Allen James and wife Lara of Trinity, NC and Michael Samuel James of New Bern; two grandchildren, Michael Samuel James, Jr. and wife Bianca and Jordan Anne Smithy and husband Kevin; and two great grandchildren, Jaycee Ray James and Colton Michael James.

The family will receive friends following the service. For those considering memorial contributions, the family suggests they be made to Community Home Care & Hospice, 1423A S. Glenburnie Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
