Brenda Gwendoline Fraser

Born in London, England, she stayed in London as a child during World War II surviving the Blitz. After living in England, Australia, Florida and Maryland, Brenda settled down on the Eastern Shore of Virginia for 25 years. She was quite the entrepreneur owning an antiques business as well as becoming a real estate agent. While in Virginia, Brenda met the love of her life, George Fraser. They enjoyed traveling, dancing at the Elks Lodge and fishing.

After her move to New Bern, she was active in the New Bern Civitans and the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, and also volunteered at the Helping Hands Thrift Shop and the Religious Community Services Community Kitchen. She also had a passion for knitting, and knitted items for many charities such as Interfaith Refugee Ministry (scarves) and Carolina East (items for premature infants.)

She was predeceased in death by her husband, George Fraser; parents Harold and Maria Edwards; brothers Eric Edwards and Phillip Edwards; and sisters Joan Wearing, Doreen Sorene and Janet Petrucha. She is survived by her son Christopher (Colette) Maple; son David Maple; daughter Elisa Maple; and four grandchildren Margaret Maple, Bryn Maple, Connor Maple, and Kate Maple.
