He worked at Barbour Boat Works in New Bern for 15 years, Texfi Industries for 8 years and owned and operated Register’s Paint and Body Shop. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
Charles is survived by his two sons, Dennis Register and Jerry Register both of the home; three daughters, Maria Register of Kinston, Diane Pate and Rachel Carol Ange both of Trenton; one brother, Carl Register of Surf City, NC; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 18, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Register and Rev. Mike Eubanks officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be sent to Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, NC 28560 to assist the family with expenses.
