

Claudette was a teacher's assistant in the Craven County School System. After leaving the school system, Claudette held many positions at First Citizen's Bank in New Bern and retired as the branch manager in Cove City. Claudette enjoyed working in her yard and garden, she loved to cook for others, and was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her Asbury community and loved to be home.
Claudette leaves behind her loving husband of 70 years, Charles Amerson; children, Betty Tripp, Gary Amerson (Kathryn), Pamela Thomas (Jimmy), and Karen Barrow (Greg); grandchildren, Jimmy Tripp (Christina), Tonya Wainright, Rebecca Thomas (Michael), Brittany Flowers, Kasi Barker (Robbie), Evan Wetherington, Sierra Thomas, Sydney Thomas, Sabella Thomas, Sophia Thomas, Justin Barrow, and Eliza Barrow; great-grandchildren, Larry, James, Landon, Jayden, Hayes, Eleanor, Miles, Emmitt, Lyndsay, Logan, and Lauren; great-great grandchildren, Ryan, Giovanni, and Aaron; brother, Carlton Ipock (Ann); and many loving nephews and nieces and close friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Ray Ipock, and sister, Caroline Connolly.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at 11AM at Asbury Methodist Church in Cove City.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Claudette's honor to Asbury Methodist Church, 1780 Asbury Road, Cove City, NC 28523.
