Dorothy B. Imholz

Dorothy Barbara Imholz passed away peacefully at home on August 28, 2025. She was born in New York City to Owen and Ruby Davis in 1923.

She attended St. John's Hospital Nursing School in Brooklyn where she made many lifelong friends, and was licensed as a Registered Nurse by New York State.

She was married to Francis Imholz from 1950 until his passing in 2016. They enjoyed many trips to foreign destinations. She was employed as a nurse part time at various hospitals on Long Island, NY, until her children were in middle school, after which time she returned to nursing full time. She positively impacted many lives as a community public health nurse for Suffolk County (NY), Department of Health from 1965 to 1985. Dorothy (also known as Dori) and Frank retired to New Bern, NC in 1988. They enjoyed living at Fairfield Harbor for many years. While in New Bern Dorothy had a variety of interests; continuing to travel for pleasure, quilting, playing bridge, genealogical study, participation in the Republican Party of North Carolina and AARP.

She is predeceased by her husband Francis Imholz, her brother Fred Davis, and her nursing school classmate and sister-in-law Elizabeth Bryce Davis. She is survived by children Peter Imholz and Susan Imholz.

Contributions to women's health services (of any kind) are welcomed and appreciated in lieu of flowers.
