Eugene Vincent Paul

Eugene Vincent Paul, 93, of New Bern, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025.

Born on December 29, 1931, to Roy and Florence Paul, Eugene grew up with strong family values and a deep sense of duty. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from January 1953 to January 1956. After his military service, he dedicated his career to Westinghouse Electric Corporation, from which he later retired. Originally from Ellicott, Maryland, Eugene made New Bern his home and became an active and valued member of the community.

Eugene was a faithful member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. He was also a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus and the New Bern Elks Lodge #764, where he shared in fellowship and service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents, Francis and Mary Paul; his maternal grandparents, William and Cora Leddy; and his siblings Richard Paul, Thomas Paul, Virginia Paul Elmore, and Marjorie Paul Connell.

Eugene is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanne Paul; his loving son, Dr. Daniel Paul and wife Dr. Caroline Paul; his beloved daughter, Evelyn Paul, his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Mary, Alice, and Steven Thomas Paul; his dear sister, Rita Paul Burkhart and brother, James Lee Paul.

A celebration of Eugene’s life will be held at a later date. Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Paul family.
