George "Max" Maxwell Miller

George "Max" Maxwell Miller, 90, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 23, 2021. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Max served the Lord with gladness and was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He worked for the Department of Defense for 37 years. Max enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, and serving the Lord on many Mission trips and Mission projects.

He is survived by his son, Timothy Miller; daughter, Cindy Unger (Dwaine); three grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Jonathan Miller, and Danny Unger; and three great grandchildren, Landon Unger, Audrey Unger, and Everett Unger; and sisters, Hope Patrick and Faith Oaks.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Maude Miller; son, Bob Miller; parents, Milton and Leona Miller; and sister, Dorothy Pennell.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Lakeside Chapel at Greenleaf Memorial Park. Rev. Scott Gleason will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tabernacle Baptist Church Building Fund, 616 Broad Street, New Bern, NC 28560.
