Harriette Deborah McSorley

Harriette Deborah McSorley, 73, passed away early morning on September 26, 2021 in the company of her loving husband of 52 years. Born on February 14, 1948, in Bradford, PA, Debbie lived a full life traveling the country and world with her family. They lived in many places - including Colorado, Germany, New Jersey,Virginia - before settling in New Bern, NC. She loved gardening, reading, the beach, the mountains, and crocheting. She devoted her life to caring for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Frederick McSorley and their three children: Jon Heggie (Crystal), Rebecca Stewart, and Roderick McSorley. As well as her two sisters, MaryAnn Ruiz (Alonzo) and Ina Dee Ruiz (Nick) and two brothers, Troy Lynn Schultz (Liz) and Milton James Schultz. She had six grandchildren: Jaid Labrie (Holden), Crystal Stewart, Cameron Stewart, Ryan Heggie, Stephanie Heggie, and Brittany Pagano (Wayne). She leaves behind three great-grandchildren whom she loved very much: Oberyn Labrie, Ursula Labrie, and Apple Eloise Pagano. Visitation for close friends and family will be Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 2pm at Cotten Funeral Home. A service will be held at the family home on Saturday, October 2, 2021 beginning at 3pm.
