Hezzie attended Louisburg College, then went to UNC and graduated in 1960 with a degree in business. During his time at Louisburg, Hezzie was the Student Body President.
Leaving behind to honor and cherish Hezzie's memories are his caring wife of 64 years, Carol Hodges; son, Stanley Scott Hodges; daughter, Cristy Hamrick and her wife, Susan Poole; grandchildren, Jack, Noah, Samantha, Lillie, and Cole; sisters, Patricia Smith and Gwen Sullivan; and many other loving family members and close friends.
Hezzie is preceded in death by his sisters, Marion 'Teeny' Hodges Hawkins and Mildred Harvell.
A service will be held at a later date.
