James Robert McGovern

He was born on September 3, 1967 to James and Elizabeth McGovern. He graduated from Maple Shade High School in New Jersey. He entered the U.S. Army where he served as a unit armorer and he attended an armory school while he was stationed in Hawaii. James had a passion for Nascar and a love for model railroads. Just prior to his passing, he had been assisting in caring for his parents. James is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Carmella and Anthony Scorza, and his paternal grandparents, James Patrick and Marie McGovern.

He is survived by his parents, James and Elizabeth McGovern of New Bern; sisters, Diane C. Hutchinson and husband Robert of King George, VA; Kathleen M. Hardiman and husband Ronald of Newport; and he was a loving uncle to Robert, Jed and Rebecca Hutchinson of King George, VA; and Edward Foulks of New Bern.

James is already missed dearly by his entire family and has always been loved by all.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 10, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church.
