She was born on November 5, 1936 in St. Andrews, Scotland. While residing in Flushing, NY and Garden City, Long Island, Jean worked in the banking industry until retiring to New Bern, NC in 1996. During her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at CarolinaEast Medical Center along with her son, Ian. She was also involved with the N.C. Special Olympics, special needs baseball and bowling. Jean loved to travel, take cruises and she loved entertaining with her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband David Hoggan and a son, Ian.
Jean is survived by one son, Allan Hoggan and wife Vickie of New Bern.
A memorial service will be held at 5:30 pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at 5:00 pm prior to the service.
