New Bern—On Monday, February 29, 2016, another angel was called to heaven. Jenny Crisp Hale now joins her loving husband of 69 years, William O. Hale who preceded her in death. Her parents, William and Maggie Crisp and her grandson, Brent Garmon, also precede her in death.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and caring. A loving mother of five children, Jenny is survived by her daughters, Gloria Hughes and husband Joe of New Bern, Ann Thornton and husband Craig of New Bern, Margaret Pritchett and husband Dan of New Bern, and Linda Jones and husband Scott of Camden, NC; and her son, David Hale and wife Carol of New Bern. Some of Jenny’s happiest moments were spent with her family and her seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Although in sadness, we know Mother now holds again our Father’s hand, and we have been truly blessed with the years shared.
Jenny Hale was born in Ravensford, NC, February 1, 1924 and later moved to New Bern where she lived a life of service. She was an active member of Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church as well as a charter member of the Vida Grantham Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Funeral services will be held at Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5th, with the Dr. William Hawkins officiating. Preceding the service, the family will receive visitors at 10 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the church. Internment will be at Greenleaf Memorial Park following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Neuse Forest Presbyterian Church, 2011 Old Cherry Point Road, New Bern, NC 28560 or a charity of your choice .
