John served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and River Bend Golf and Country Club where he was an avid golfer.
John is survived by his wife, Eugenia “Genie” E. Griffin, and five nephews, John F. Donnelly and Gregory Donnelly, both of North Branford, CT; Robert Donnelly of Exton, PA; Brian Donnelly of North Haven, CT; and Kevin Donnelly of East Haven, CT.
